LRA Committee

The committee is a group of up to 14 volunteers from all walks of life who give up their time to help make Lee an even better place in which to live, work and visit. It comprises a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and up to 10 local members, all of whom belong to the Lee Residents Association.

I moved to Lee-on-the-Solent from Devon in 2015 after retiring. I had, for many years worked as a Landscape Gardener.
I became chairman of LRA in 2019 and, with the help of my wife, organise the Association Membership Records and Database.

Alison Roast

Deputy Chair

I have lived in Lee over 35 years and joined the Committee over 20 years ago initially to protect the airfield from gravel extraction. I am lead in the planning team which looks at all planning applications for Lee on the Solent.

Alison Collett

Secretary

I moved to Lee in 2014 following a varied career: as an Executive Secretary; teacher of IT and business studies and finally a Payroll, HR and Fleet Manager. I have been a secretary for a variety of voluntary organisations throughout many years.

Brian Mansbridge

I trained in Mine Warfare and as a Hovercraft pilot. I was awarded an MBE in the Gulf War. After a Navy career I worked for the NHS for 15 years while touring the Inland Waterways by narrowboat. On retiring to Lee, I support the LRA, the Gosport Society and St Faith’s

Julie Palmer

I was born in Fareham where I lived for over 70 years, before moving to Lee. My husband and I designed, built and ran a very successful residential home for 15 years. I am a Trustee of a housing charity in Gosport and have a special interest in the elderly and health matters

Ray Harding

I moved from Gosport to Lee in 1969. Been involved in the Community for around 50 years or more. I retired after 40 years from the Civil Service in 2005. Chair – Lee Horticultural Society and LRA Committee Member – Events – Lee Historic Walks and Talks and the monthly BOOST Table Top Events

Constance Williams

I graduated from university in Colorado with a degree in Psychology and worked in the airline industry for over 20 years. Since 2011, I have lived in Lee-on-the-Solent and for five of those years I have volunteered at Oxfam.

David Lynock

I was born in Birmingham, and worked at Birmingham University for over twenty years. I was the chair of the Civic Centre Residents Association I retired 3 years ago after working at the University of Southampton in the Faculty of Engineering. We have lived in Lee on the Solent for 22 years. I have the portfolio for the Environment.
