LRA Committee

The committee is a group of up to 14 volunteers from all walks of life who give up their time to help make Lee an even better place in which to live, work and visit. It comprises a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and up to 10 local members, all of whom belong to the Lee Residents Association.

Kealy Dingley

Chair

We moved to Lee on Solent in 2003, 10 years later I opened The Mortgage Helpers on the High Street. Lee on Solent was an amazing place to raise 2 boys, it continues to be an immensely rewarding place to work and I can’t think of anywhere else I would rather live. Lee has everything that we need, fantastic local shops, bars and restaurants along with beautiful, panoramic views across the Solent.

Dawn Raymond

Vice-Chair

Ashleigh Evans

Secretary

I was born and lived in Portsmouth until 2021 when I moved to Lee on Solent. I have worked in administration for 10 years. In 2016 I had my now 8 year old son Theo. In 2017 I became guardian to my younger brother Alfie. We all love living in Lee-On-the-Solent and feel so lucky to be here, which is why I want to be more actively involved with the community.

Brenda Bamforth

Treasurer

I was born in Fleetwood Lancashire, at that time a prosperous fishing port. Now its claim to fame is being the hometown of the Tenor Mr Alfie Boe and home of Fisherman’s Friend (the lozenges, not the singing group). On marriage to a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy I left to live in Scotland and subsequently travelled the UK, until finally settling in Stubbington in 1981. Sadly my husband passed away and it was then I decided life is too short and began travelling. I found a travel company who specialised in holidays for solo travellers and have had many fantastic experiences all over the world. I still travel but these days closer to home and also enjoy cruising. I moved to Lee-on-the-Solent in 2006 and joined Lee Residents Association around 4 years ago. Hopefully my 40 years of working in finance for both public sector and private companies will stand me in good stead for the roll of Treasurer.

Jackie Holley

Events, Fundraising, Publicity. Health & Wellbeing

I originate from Yorkshire but came down South in 1968 when I was 17 and joined the Wrens. I met my husband, David who was in the Navy. After moving around with our daughter we settled in Lee-on-the-Solent in 1986 when my husband was at HMS Daedalus. I worked at Plessy’s and M&S and was involved in the new Hedge End store as the Fashions Supervisor. In 2009 I qualified as a Pharmacy Technician. My late husband was Chair and Treasurer in the Conservative Club and I feel I would like to have a more active role within the changing and growing community and meet some of the local residents.
